Paddick - Shut Tube for weeks not weekends to speed up repairs
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Brian Paddick has said that he would rather have seen sections of tube track closed for weeks rather than just for weekends, so that repair work could be speeded up.
He said: “Weekend closures and early evening track closures are a very inefficient way of doing maintenance on the Tube because it goes on for months and months.
“What we are suggesting, and TfL are beginning to listen, is to have block closures. I would close a section of line for two or three weeks, do all the maintenance and then re-open it.”
